Chili Crisp: The Condiment That Belongs on Everything!
I’ve fallen HARD for this fiery oil with all the crunchy bits. I remember sampling it for the first time while perusing a culinary store on vacation. It was an immediate attraction. No joke I had a hard time walking away from that sample stand. But finding chili crisp wasn’t always easy – especially at the grocery store. That is until it became the IT condiment over the pandemic. Grocery stores went from not stocking it at all to not being able to stock the shelves fast enough! And it’s easy to understand why this condiment started to fly off the shelves. Anyone who tries chili crisp will almost undoubtedly become a fan. It’s a flavor bomb that you’ll want to put on everything! It offers any easy punch of flavor when food feels a little dull and boring. Here are just a few ideas:
- Add a dollop to eggs.
- It makes an incredible avo toast topping.
- Serve over noodles or noodle soups.
- Stir it into a peanut or tahini sauce.
- Toss into a stir-fry.
- For a tasty snack, serve with cottage cheese and pretzels.
- Add to dips or sandwich/wrap spreads.
- Serve with fish tacos.
- Enjoy with egg rolls or dumplings.
- Spoon it over fresh mango.

To cook the shrimp, heat a cast iron pan over medium high heat. Remove the shrimp from the marinade (making sure to reserve leftover marinade) and add to the hot pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side. Before removing from pan, toss the shrimp in reserved marinade. Cooking for one more minute. Remove from pan.
To assemble, add rice to individual bowls. Top with slaw and then divide shrimp between bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve with additional chili crisp. Enjoy!
