Recently, I’ve been playing around with some ingredients to try and bring turkey burgers to life. After some trial and error I’m 100% confident I’ve found the magic formula to make an absolute killer turkey burger. And I’m 100% confident you guys will love these Cilantro Veggie Turkey Burgers with Chipotle Bang Sauce!
What Makes These Cilantro Veggie Turkey Burgers So Good?
- They’re super juicy and tender: Because turkey meat is much leaner than a beef burger, achieving a tender and juicy burger that doesn’t instantly dry out is a challenge. This recipe takes care of all of that! The trick is adding in sauted veggies to bring in some moisture. And not only that, the veggies also add in extra nutrients and flavor!
- They’re hearty and satisfying: Just look at how thick these guys are! Between the protein in the turkey and fiber from the veggies, these burgers are so filling and satiating.
- They’re full of flavor, and spice can be adjusted to personal preference: The spices and flavors added to this recipe wake this turkey burger up. From the smoky paprika, earthy cumin, herby cilantro, flavorful worcestershire, and sweet sauteed veggies, they all add just a lil sumpin sumpin to an overall tasty burger. And the Chipotle Bang Sauce is a super delicious bonus with just the right amount of heat to punch things up. If you’re not sure about the added heat or are sensitive to spice, you can absolutely take it down a notch or two and cut back on the chipotle, hot sauce and/or pickled jalapenos. Or on the other hand, if you prefer more spice, kick it up and add in more.
- They’re relatively easy: All you need for this recipe is a skillet and a bowl. Saute the veggies, mix your burger patty ingredients, shape and cook. It’s that easy! And for the sauce, just stir everything together in a small bowl. Boom. Done.
You Can Make Ahead and Freeze These Burgers
Just mix the burger ingredients together, shape into patties, and freeze the uncooked patties in single layers in freezer safe containers/bags, separating them between sheets of parchment or wax paper. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to cook, thaw in the fridge overnight and cook as directed.
